Hello from Tokyo and the RHDJapan team. This weekend will close out this year's Tokyo Motor Show. If interested in checking out some coverage please check out the RHDJapan FB page.
This time of the year is yet again like every year, a time when all manufacturers and warehouses close down for a few consecutive days before the end of December and beginning of January. This is called Shogatsu. Wikipedia says, "It is considered by most Japanese to be one of the most important annual festivals and has been celebrated for centuries with its own unique customs." Each company is different but there are some overlapping times and the bigger the company the more holiday they take. RHDJapan is also giving its employees a break for 6 days during this time. Patrick and Russell will be on email as usual and our last shipping day for the year will be December 28th 2011 and our first shipping day of the year will be January 6th, 2012. We will continue to take orders and sell from our warehouses as usual during the down time but shipping will be a little delayed as it is every year for everybody during this time.

Like we do everyweek at this time we will be listing the select brands that will be on special for the whole weekend. An additional 6% discount will be applied to any parts from any of the manufacturers listed below. These specials end at 9:00am next Monday.

Coucou et bonjour à tous de Tokyo de la part de toute l'équipe de RHDJapan! Ce week end se termine le tokyo Motor Show de cette année. Si vous êtes tenté par la couverture de l'évènement, n'hésitez plus et rendez vous sur la page Facebook de RHDJapan.
Cette période de l'année arrive encore à l'horizon et comme tous les ans, c'est une période où les fabricants et les entrepôts ferment leurs portes pour quelques jours consécutifs entre la fin du mois de décembre et le début du mois de janvier. Cette période s'appelle Shogatsu. Le Nouvel An japonais, oshōgatsu (お正月, oshōgatsu?) ou ganjitsu (元日, ganjitsu?), est célébré depuis des siècles et a ses propres coutumes. C'est l'une des fêtes les plus importantes de l'année et qui dure plusieurs jours. De nos jours, les Japonais prennent des congés du 1er au 5 janvier (parfois même à partir du 27 ou 28 décembre pour les préparatifs du réveillon), et en profitent parfois pour partir en voyage à l'étranger.
RHDJapan donne également un break à ses employés pour 6 jours pendant cette période. Patrick et Russell seront disponibles par email comme toujours et notre dernier jour d'expédition de l'année sera le 28 décembre 2011 et notre premier jours d'expédition sera le 6 janvier 2012. Entre temps nous continuerons à traiter les commandes tout à fait normalement, les expéditions seront simplement retardées un peu, comme tous les ans à la même époque.

Hello from Tokyo and the RHDJapan team. We had a direct hit with the Typhoon yesterday which was a very rare happening for Tokyo. Our evening packages could not be shipped however they were picked up first thing this morning. There will be no other delays from the Typhoon.

Golden Week Specials Showa Campaign ~May 9
Japan has now entered the Golden Week Holiday. This holiday is a string of different National Holidays that extends for one week. The first of the holidays is Showa-no-hi (The Day of Showa). The Showa period is a significant period for JDM automotive and tuning industries as it extended for several decades and came to an end in 1989.
Any JDM automobile manufactured prior to 1990 would be considered to be a Showa period vehicle (any vehicle manufactured after this time frame would be considered in the Heisei Period). Although it has been over 20 years since the end of Showa RHDJapan is always proud to help provide quality parts for these great machines of the late 70's and 80's. These are the machines that started the tuning scene here is Japan and we still give them maximum respect.
In celebration of the great machines from the Showa period and Golden Week RHDJapan will be extending a 6% discount on some select manufacturers that focus on machines from this era.
Also included will be some manufacturers that have been around since this era which are also some of the biggest and most respected brands today.

Le japon vient d'entamer les vacances de la Golden Week. Ces vacances sont en fait une suite de jours fériés tout au long d'une même semaine.
Le premier est le jour de la Showa. La période de la Showa est une période importante pour l'industrie de l'automobile et du tuning puisqu'elle s'est étendue sur plusieurs décénies et a pris fin en 1989.
Toute automobile sortie des chaines de production avant 1990 devrait être considérée comme un véhicule de l'ère Showa, toutes celles sorties des chaînes depuis sont alors de l'ère Heisei.
Bien que plus de 20 ans ce soient écoulés depuis la fin de l'ère Showa, RHDJapan est toujours fier de vous fournir des pièces de qualité pour ces fabuleuses machines de la fin des années 70, ou des années 80. Ce sont avec ces véhicules que la grande scène du tuning à démarré, et c'est pourquoi ici au Japon, elles ont encore droit à un maximum de respect.
Afin de célébrer au mieux ces véhicules de la Showa ainsi que la Golden Week RHDJapan ajoute 6% de remise sur certains fabricants qui aujourd'hui encore se concentrent sur les véhicules de cette période.
Nous allons aussi inclure quelques fabricants qui ont été dans le coin depuis cette époque et qui sont devenus des marques parmi les plus grandes et les plus importantes jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

Weekend Specials ~March 28
To both the long time and first visitors, welcome back to the RHDJapan Blog!
Over the last couple weeks we have been checking with the manufacturers and supply chains in order to provide our customers with exactly what is going on within the industry.
All shipping services are back up to speed and some of the companies that were not taking orders are back on track however there are still a couple manufacturers having delays.
